The NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) is an innovative psychotherapeutic approach that explores the often long-lasting effects of adapting to stressful childhood experiences (developmental trauma, complex PTSD).

The introductory seminar enables participants to gain an overview of the fundamental principles of NARM’s theoretical and clinical approach. Based on an understanding of the functional unity of biological and psychological development, NARM addresses early patterns of disconnection from oneself and others that profoundly shape our identity, thinking, feeling, behavior, physiology, and relationships. By integrating psychodynamic, humanistic, and body-centered approaches, NARM offers a comprehensive theoretical and clinical model for combining “top-down” psychotherapy with “bottom-up” somatic methods. Working in the present moment within the context of interpersonal neurobiology, NARM provides an effective approach that is resource-oriented, non-regressive, non-cathartic, and ultimately non-pathologizing. In therapeutic support, the focus lies on the interplay between aspects of identity and the capacity for contact, containment, and regulation.
